Magick: Ethics Safety, and Application

Greetings dreamer. The following is a selection of excerpts are from our resident wizard's book of the same name: "Magick: Ethics, Safety and Application." With the rising popularity and mainstream use of magick, The Wizard noticed a severe lack in discussion regarding the safe and ethical use of such a powerful, energetic practice. Our hope and intent is that this text serves to prevent any would-be magicians from falling into some common magickal pitfalls when attempting to practice the craft. If you enjoy these excerpts, you can purchase the full book from our online shop. Thank you for your support.

From Chapter 2: The Ethics of Magick:

"The Ethical Axioms of Magick:

I. Magick must not usurp the free will of others.

To do so is to go against God’s gift to humanity–to act against life itself.

II. Magick must consider the greater good of all involved.

Without care and consideration, magick can have unintended side effects.

III. Magick must be used for internal transformation, not material gain.

The magick you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Adhering to the above axioms can ensure that your use and experimentation

of magick remains safe, ethical, and effective..."

From Chapter 3: The Ethics of Magick:

"Magick without precaution has the capability to send a magician to

excruciating depths of corruption, amorality, and utter soullessness–this statement

is truth, and it is not meant to dissuade one from the use of magick, but instead

make very clear the lengths at which magick can negatively impact one’s life when

used without care. With that being said, we must continue on by laying out the

main risk factors in the operation of magick. The essence and usage of magick

itself is not malignant, nor is it ‘looking’ to test the magician’s might through

arduous backfirings–it is a system that operates on logic and patterns, which

rewards the diligent and punishes the undisciplined. What might be considered the

‘logical approach’ to magick is the utilization of ‘universal, spiritual truths’ that

may be traced back to the practices of most, if not all, societies at one point in

history or another. Likewise, there exists a well-documented basis for the

awareness and prevention of malevolent presence through the means of magick

and/or for the sake of performing the magick itself. Consistent historical accounts

assert that magickal operations are most put at risk of failing due to energetic

impurities, poor intention, and improper timing–these factors can be mitigated,

even negated, through energetic cleansing, meditation, and celestial awareness..."
